It may still be humid, and most days still quite warm but it’s hard to ignore the leaves changing colors and that slight chill in the air in the morning. I hate to admit it, but fall is upon us and here at the Chamber there’s not a lot of time to daydream about those long, hot summer days. Check out below all that’s going on with the Chamber this month.
In the News
On the 6th from 6:30-8:30pm the Windom Area Hospital will be holding a free Breastfeeding Class. The 6th Annual Kids Rodeo & Fall Festival will be held from 11am-4pm on the 10th at Reinbows. The Cottonwood County Historical Society Annual Fall Fundraiser will be held on the 12th from 4:30-7pm. On the 18th the Remick Gallery Art Show Opening of “The Artful Life” by Anita Skow, Marget Floyd & Mart Christenson will be from 2-4pm. The Windom Area Hospital will be hosting “Heroes Behind the Badges” Community Blood Drive from 11:30am-7pm. And on the 24th the Windom Area Hospital Auxiliary Fall Festival will be held from 9am-1pm at the Lutheran Church of Our Saviors.
The Chamber’s Annual Online Auction opens Monday, September 12th at 8am. Log on to https://windomchamber.24fundraiser.com to bid on tons of great items. Or go to www.windomnews.com or www.windomchamber.com for a direct link to the auction. If bidding from a mobile device use https://m.24fundraiser.com/m/windomchamber. Check out all the great items that are up for bid! There is a Snow Thrower donated by Toro, advertising packages donated by the Citizen and KDOM, and multiple mirrors donated by River Bend Liquor just to name a few! Bidding can be made up to 10pm on Tuesday, October 11th.
21st Annual Golf Outing
The Chamber’s 21st annual Golf Outing is set for Saturday, September 24th at the Windom Country Club with a shotgun start at 3pm. The event is a 9 hole, 4 person best shot and all skill levels are welcome! First place will receive $200 in Chamber Bucks and there will be lots of door and hole prizes given away. The tournament is $35/individual or $125/team and there will be a meal to follow that is included in the registration fee. If you or your business would like to be a hole sponsor or donate door prizes and have not yet been contacted by a board member please call the Chamber office.
Craft Fair & Flea Market
Mark your calendars for the 39th Annual Fall Craft Fair and Flea Market on Saturday, October 1st from 9am-3pm at the Windom Community Center! There will be over 40 unique vendors, consultants, and craft makers with great finds for either yourself or even people on that Christmas list you always plan on doing early. If you receive a grab bag at the Tammy Hall Breast Health Walk look for your free admission ticket! All morning there will be rolls and coffee, at 10am pie serving begins, and lunch begins at 11am. There will also be door prizes donated by the vendors!
Young Professionals Group
If you are younger than 40 you are welcome to join us in networking with other young professionals in the Windom area. Our next meeting date will be Wednesday, September 21st at 6pm at the Windom Country Club. Questions? Call the Chamber for more information.
