Committees
Ag & Natural Resources
Purpose: To implement goals and projects relating to agriculture and the environment. Activities include the Farm & Home Show and the Ag Scholarship. This committee typically meets from December to March.
Budget & Finance Sub-Committee
Purpose: To assist Executive Director in planning the yearly budget and maintaining the Chamber's finances to make sure they are in good standing. This committee typically meets a few times in August and September to plan for the upcoming fiscal year.
Career Education
Purpose: To plan educational opportunities for youth in the area to teach them about local careers upon graduation. This committee meets monthly.
Christmas by Candlelight
Purpose: To plan events around the Square during Christmas by Candlelight. This committee meets three months prior to Christmas by Candlelight, which takes place in December.
Convention and Visitors Bureau
Purpose: To advance the economic impact of tourism in the Windom area by attracting visitors, conventions, events and trade or hobby shows. Activities include marketing/advertising tourism in the Windom area, financial contributions for advertising community attractions and facilitating and promoting the Windom Gun & Knife Show.
Executive
Purpose: To review issues facing the Chamber, making preliminary decisions and to act on behalf of the board during interim times between board meetings. This committee meets the third Tuesday of the Month.
Gala Planning
Purpose: To plan the annual gala and facilitate the nomination process for Chamber business awards. This committee meets monthly or as needed when approaching the gala date.
Membership
Purpose: To implement goals and projects relating to membership development and retention. Activities include Chamber Connections and membership benefit discussions. This committee meets monthly.
Professional Development
Purpose: To implement goals and projects relating to the development of community and its relationship to the Chamber. Program includes Rising Stars, Business Bites and additional educational opportunities. This committee has met monthly.
Special Events
Purpose: To organize, plan and help carry out any additional events that me be added throughout the year. These committees will meet the three months prior to any given event and as necessary as the event approaches.
